Tracey Alvarez
Tracey Alvarez lives in the Coolest Little Capital in the World (a.k.a Wellington, New Zealand) where she’s yet to be buried under her to-be-read book pile by Wellington’s infamous wind—her Kindle’s a lifesaver! Married to a wonderfully supportive IT guy, she has two teens who would love to be surgically linked to their electronic devices.
Fuelled by copious amounts of coffee, she’s the author of contemporary romantic fiction set predominantly in New Zealand. Small-towns, close communities, and families are a big part of the heart-warming stories she writes. Oh, and hot, down-to-earth heroes—Kiwi men, in other words.
When she’s not writing, thinking about writing, or procrastinating about writing, Tracey can be found reading sexy books of all romance genres, nibbling on smuggled chocolate bars, or bribing her kids to take over the housework.
Tracey also writes flirty, dirty stories under the penname Jessie Logan.

On a personal note, Siobhan Davis recommended Tracey to me. She knew how much I love character driven books and thought I would enjoy Tracey's first book. Like doesn't come close to how I feel about Tracey's books. I love them. I have a hard time remembering that they are fictional characters. I desperately want to live on Stewart Island or Bounty Bay. I always say reading one of her books is like going home, but it's not. The island is better. It's full of fun, hot people, caring for each other, having amazing sex, living lives we should all envy. Sure, they face obstacles, but they never have to face them alone. It's a sample of how home should be. The women are all the best of friends, true to each other like only women can be. The men share a brotherhood that is special and the entire group is like whānau. You know what you are getting with one of Tracey's books; a love story that will face some rough patches, but will end in a happily ever after. That's only half though; the pleasure is in the path to get there. Whether it's set in a bar, a kitchen, a beauty salon, on a boat or a schoolhouse, you know the real story will take place at a kitchen table, a living room couch, a bench or a bed. The real story is between the people. Tracey creates such true characters with real depth facing real life situations. There is never any need for ridiculous, extravagant plots; she gives us the rawness, the beauty, pain, and fears of lives worth living. The evolution of each character during their journey to love leaves me feeling happy and eager for the next set of characters. These books are a cup of hot chocolate on a cold day or a hug just when you need one the most.

B.L.Brunnemer has been a devoted reader since she was young. As a child, she was instantly attracted to horror stories. The plot, the suspense, the action. She loved it all. Which, as she grew, branched out into several other genres. But a strong female character always caught her eye. Through the years romance became a big part of her reading. Then she found the Young Adult/New Adult genre. But she had a problem. She never found the romance between most characters to be realistic enough for her. At least in the paranormal romance section.
So, she decided to fix that. She'd been writing for years already and had always struggled to finish a manuscript. Until, she decided to write what she wanted to read.
On a Personal Note, BL is an amazing author and a caring person. She is quick to interact with her fans on a personal level. Her Veil Keepers Group on Facebook is very active and she is likely to drop by daily. She is funny; her sense of humor is lively and somewhat bawdy. When a member has a personal problem she offers what she can. Example: To emphasize safety, she offered prizes for readers who looked up self-defense classes in their area. She is quick with rewards to readers, offering up POV's from Lexi's guys to keep us happy. She's generous with her time and talents to the point where her husband has to limit her activity at times. This is necessary because I have never met a more addicted group of people over a book and its characters. There are endless discussions about which guy is the best, how much we hate outside girlfriends, who will be Lexi's first. On and on. We post pictures of how we imagine the guys to look. We might possibly stalk real-life guys who remind us of a Veil character. Group members have dyed their hair to match Lexi's. There is a page with fanfic dedicated to the Veil. BL is involved in each discussion and has her own comments. Sometimes she agrees, sometimes she won't tell us anything (spoiler), sometimes she laughs, and sometimes we think that she's leading us astray. We are passionate, devoted, protective of this series and its author. She has created something truly special with the Veil.

On a personal note, I am lucky enough to call Siobhan a friend. She's not only a fantastic writer, but a lovely lady. After reading True Calling I sent her an email letting her know how much I loved her characters. She responded that very day and we developed a regular correspondence. We have never met in person, but talk weekly. I know about her family, she has had to hear way too much about mine. She makes me laugh, gives me encouragement and support across the pond. She has introduced me to several great authors and series; I have swayed her to the dark side, encouraging her to write a RH book. She is my Irish sister. I feel so, so fortunate that I found that first book of hers and sent that email.

Rebecca Royce
Author of science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal.
On a personal note, I have reached out to Rebecca multiple times to talk about her characters and can say that she is lovely. As a young girl I loved female characters that were fiesty. Anne of Green Gables, Pippi Longstocking, Sara Crewe from Little Princess, Mary Lennox from The Secret Garden. As I got older, strong female characters became less and less a part of literature. For every Scarlett O'Hara you get a dozen Bella Swan's. Girl characters evolve into pretty victims in need of a strong man to save them. The side females are typically mean girls. Rebecca Royce's females are the exception. She is the voice of a new generation of girls who may or may not be beautiful, but they are brilliant, strong, and brave. They find men who compliment them, not complete them. They are the women you want your daughter to be when she grows up. Melissa Alexander, Diana Mallory, Anne, Teagan, and Mika, Ashlee and Summer Morrison, and the incomparable Rachel Clancy. I can't recommend her books enough. Each one is beautifully written, full of action and emotions with incredible characters.
