Perfect Design (The Code #5)
Emma. Foxy Lady. Beautiful brilliant code designer. The security code she developed was an innovation meant to revolutionize the world and make her financially set for life. A life complete with a yacht and cabana boys for her and her bestie. It hasn't exactly worked out like she planned. Her code led her to the men of Pentabyte. Men she dearly loves. However, her code proved to be more in demand than she could have ever envisioned and led her life into dangerous disarray. She and her loved ones have been damaged financially and threated on every level. Her men of Pentabyte have taken a huge financial hit and are under government investigation. This path of corporate and personal destruction is all because BHC, another company is ruthless and immoral when obtaining what they covet. The time has come, however, for Emma and her men to fight back. They have teamed with the FBI for a sting operation that if successful will put an end to BHC once and for all and allow them to live the life they want.

Pandemonium. Stocks crashing. SEC and IRS investigators swarming. Fire alarms blaring. A rushed exit and multiple high-speed car escapes/chases. One ill-advised meeting and possible betrayals. Fights. Uncertainty. Definite heartache. And it all comes back to the code. The code has been a blessing and a curse. It has turned Emma's world on its end. BHC has proven that their ruthlessness has no limits. They want Emma's code and they are prepared to ruin her life and the lives of everyone she cares about to own it. They have her backed into a corner and she's finished fighting. As far as she is concerned they can have the code if they will leave her, her family, her best friend, and Pentabyte alone. But that's not enough for BHC anymore. The men of Pentabyte have a plan. It's a huge risk; dangerous, and failure means certain ruin but Emma is worth it.
The tension in this book is unbelievable. Overwhelming. I had to actually limit myself while reading to keep from becoming too worked up. I may or may not have called the authors a few choice names at times. My son possibly thinks I'm a bit "off" now after watching my reaction to certain events. I will not begin to deny how invested I am in Emma and the men of Pentabyte. I have crossed every line; these characters are no longer fictional to me, their predicament is impacting me. I am worried, angry, frustrated. This series is so clever, so intelligent, so addictive. This book was action-filled and emotional. The detailing is incredible. It's truly the perfect blend of brilliant minds, sharp, shrewd business characters, beautiful people with an amazing connection, and a tale of corporate espionage and treachery.
Broken Process (The Code #3
Emma's bank account has been drained, her childhood home ransacked, and now her best friend, Zoey has been taken. BHC has shown that they will stop at nothing to get access to Emma's code. Emma has tried to be strong, to be independent but realizes that she can no longer allow her pride to stand in the way of accepting the guy's help. She had wanted to keep a degree of separation between her and the men of Pentabyte until her decision was made but the realization that she and her loved ones are in actual danger forces her to take action. As she hands over her safety to the guys, she also realizes that she has handed over her heart. Now she has to figure out what comes next; not only with her code but with her relationships. One girl, five guys. That can't work but she can't just walk away. As the guys try to protect her and reassure her that everything will work out, their own lives are caught up in the danger too.

Emma Collins is a brilliant programmer struggling to get by while she finishes up her innovative security software. She lives with her best friend, works too many shifts at the hospital to pay the bills, and cooks when particularly stressed trying to work through a computing issue. She has trust issues since her last boyfriend/Jackass Jeremy/now new millionaire stole the idea that they were working on right out from under her. He's also the reason she has not been with a man in way too long! Pentabyte is one of the most successful tech companies in the country. It's run by its board consisting of five close friends, Jax, his twin Jude, Daniel, Trigg, and Gunner. These guys have been through a lot together, weathered some demons, and are closer than brothers. Now they have their eyes are Emma. When Emma receives an invitation to the Selsford Gala, the most prestigious event in her industry it's only the beginning for her. Offers start coming in; job offers, big money, living arrangements. But the tech industry can be cutthroat. Tactics to lure new recruits and to obtain new software are often shady. Needless to say, Emma has more than one marathon cooking session! She wants to be professional, she wants to make the most for her life with her software, opportunities like this are rare, but the offers are overwhelming and then she's distracted by the five gorgeous men she can't seem to stop thinking about.
Truly entertaining! This is a cleverly written book. The storyline is solid with excellent detailing. The characters are fantastic. The bond of brotherhood between the guys based on the past, the mystery surrounding Jax's past, the importance they place on their friendship and tradition. The fact that these successful men take nothing for granted and enjoy the little things and time spent together makes them even more attractive than their gorgeous faces, hot bodies, and bank account. Emma is a great lead female. Her mind, her pride, her confidence with a natural touch of self-doubt, her friendship with Zoey, and her heartbreak over Jeremy's betrayal make her a multi-layered, complex character. The new connection between Emma and the guys is intriguing. Her desire to be seen as a professional warring with her attraction to the guys; their desire for her conflicting with their wish to not scare her off leads to unfulfilled desires. The sexual tension in this book is off the charts. I have never read a book where nothing more than a kiss takes place yet it seems so much steamier. I love this! It makes me desperate for more!

Polaris (The Stardust #5)
Haley is conflicted. She has it all; she's excelling in the training program, her father is safe, she has a good friend in Kara and she has five wonderful men. But that's the problem. Knox told her that the team doesn't want her to pick one of them but just how can they make this work? Should she even try? What if she can't keep them all happy? What if they meet someone else? Isn't she being selfish wanting them all and ruining their chances at "normal"? What if it does work out? What will the rest of the world think? What will her dad think? It's too much! She loves them all but what if she ends up losing them all in the end? There is no simple answer. As Haley struggles to figure out what is best for her and Team Jaguar, she throws herself into the final portion of her training even as her guys try to keep her from pulling away. Then as her final exam goes terribly awry, everything finally comes into focus. Now her only question is, 'Is it too late'?
Polaris is beyond amazing. Honestly, I am afraid to even write this review because it's going to sound way over the top. I swear it is romantic perfection. It's beautifully crafted. Such care was taken to create this final book and it is a worthy conclusion. Each loving comment from one of the guys, each sweet gesture, every hot encounter is perfect. There's no other way to describe it. Autumn and Julia should apologize to men everywhere. There is NO WAY they will ever be able to live up to the men of Team Jaguar. Women need to accept that we can only dream of ever meeting one guy as sexy, as romantic, as smart, as devoted as one of Haley's five. This is a fantasy of the best kind and I loved every second of it. Birthdays. Holidays. Vacations. Dates. Cooking. Sexy times. This book includes everything every reader who fell in love with Haley and Team Jaguar in Phoenix has ever wanted. Again, PERFECTION!
This book isn't just about Haley and her men though. It's a compelling, suspenseful thriller as well. Be careful when you start reading this one or you will find yourself up during the wee hours of the morning. (personal experience) It's sensational. Haley proves just how smart, how clever, how caring, how brave, and how kick-a** she is. Team Jaguar isn't too shabby either! Everything comes to a conclusion by the end. All answers are given, all characters, past and present are accounted for. I wanted a HEA; I would not have been satisfied with anything less. It's rare that a book can exceed expectations, but this one does. I wanted to read it slow since it's the last one of the series; I actually forced myself to put it down, I tried to distract myself. I failed. It called to me to the point of obsession. I couldn't stay away. It's too good. Then it was over; I was ecstatic, I was devasted. At least I can re-read it over and over again!
Thank you, Autumn and Julia, for creating these characters and weaving this amazing story around them. You created a believable RH that I have been enchanted with for nearly three years. I'm sad that their story has come to an end on page but they will be living their HEA in my mind each time I look at the night skies.

Vega (The Stardust #4)
by Autumn Reed , Julia Clarke *****REVIEW
Vega, book 4 of the Stardust Series is exactly what a reverse harem should be. This is a well written book. The characters have depth. It's sexy, sweet, and entertaining. At no point does it become ridiculous and force the reader to suspend all sense of logic to continue reading. It progresses at a natural speed, especially considering their ages. Autumn Reed and Julia Clarke represent the best of this genre.
After running Haley has spent the last several months in Portland, but now Theo and Knox have come to try to get her to return. She had two reasons for running away. The guys feel that they have handled the first and have a solution for the other. Haley's not sure that their plan will work, but she wants to return home. She's missed the guys as much as they've missed her, so she's willing to try.I could not have asked for anything more with Haley's return to Santa Cruz. She's taking more control of her life. She has focus and a future using her brains and putting her talents to use. She is now an equal. She has a close girlfriend in Kara. She has 5 incredible guys. She is spending time with all, seeing to their needs, falling in love with each of them. Each guy gets a good amount of time. There is group time, but each guy gets individual dates and alone time. No one is overlooked. She has a singular connection with each guy and each guy holds a special place in her heart (mine too). I feel that we now know each guy so much better. Team Jaguar, Jax, Liam, Knox, Theo, and Chase offer up romance, sweetness, tenderness, and sexy times every opportunity that they get with Haley. I have a new favorite each chapter. Theo's enthusiasm and sense of fun, Chase's vulnerability and sweetness, Liam's charisma and charm, Jax's intelligence and common interests, and Knox's protectiveness and loving. Of course, this had to be a reverse harem. No female could possibly choose! They also share pieces of their past, personal dreams, and their hearts. Haley's happiness is of utmost importance and binds them all together when insecurities surface.
This book was pleasing in every possible way. It elicits every type of emotion. The wait for Vega was well worth it and I am now looking forward to 2018's Polaris!
Chamaeleon (The Stardust #3.5)
by Autumn Reed , Julia Clarke ****REVIEW
I love these books! Honestly, I would give them a 5 star if they were longer. That's my only complaint; they are just too short and then I have to wait for the next novella to be released.
I don't give spoilers but I will say Chamaeleon picks up the story right where Pyxis left off. It is written in the POV of all 5 guys and Haley. We get a clear understanding of how each person feels;
This story was more difficult because of the separation but the plot is developing nicely. It was nice to see Haley stand on her own. She proves that she is an intelligent, strong young lady. Her survival skills and her willingness to sacrifice to keep the guys safe shows her merit. The guys and their determination to bring her home was equally wonderful. I can't possibly pick a favorite from the guys. I would want them all too! Ethan has been disappointing, however the other's love for Haley leaves me eager for the reunion with Haley. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Pyxis (The Stardust #3)
by Autumn Reed , Julia Clarke ****REVIEW
Pyxis is my favorite of the Stardust series so far. The main story thread about Haley's missing father is still the central theme, but she is living her life more and more. She's working, making a few girlfriends, reconnecting with her only former GF, and getting closer to most of the guys. Her life is finally becoming her own and with that, she's encountering a whole new set of emotions; anxiety, confusion, guilt, lust... She's also experiencing those wonderful flutters you get when you're around someone you've starting to fall in love with. She's coming to the realization that she's in love with all but one of her guys on team Jaguar. They are all clearly smitten with her and jealousy pops up here and there creating a bit of tension.
Although Haley needs to communicate more about her feelings with the guys (although I understand how difficult this would be), I like how she's handling everything. She's getting closer to them in a natural way. She's loving and caring; fun and thoughtful. Each one of the guy's characters has been developed so nicely that my favorite changes page by page. I can't blame Haley for wanting them all if I can't narrow it down myself. There are several seriously sweet scenes in the book both with Haley and the guys one on one and as a group. Her connections with them and vice versa are portrayed exactly right. It's all made to feel so natural and real. It's not all good though. When encountered by the reigning manwhore of the group Haley shows strength of character. Although she has had feelings for him since the beginning, she calls him out on his behavior and shuts him down. While the consequences have a negative chain reaction, she dealt with the conversation with grace. Danger still exists and a new threat is directed towards Haley. She takes control of her life completely at this point. The results will impact everyone. Pyxis ends in a cliffhanger with major actions by one member of Team Jaguar and by Haley.decision. I can't wait for the next book to find out what happens next with these two and the others!
Draco (The Stardust #2)
by Autumn Reed , Julia Clarke ****REVIEWPhoenix (The Stardust #1)
Kenzie's twelve marks have been nothing but a pain since she was blessed with them. Singled out at school, kidnapped by rebels, held against her will, threatened. When familiar faces start showing up at the rebel camp, Kenzie doesn't know whom to trust or what to believe anymore. Resist, escape, time is running out. Will Kenzie be the human's salvation or the cause of their destruction?
Marked By Pain was a bit of a disappointment following book one. I loved the first book and was excited about this one but unfortunately, this book didn't measure up. The story itself was fine but this book was rushed and lacked the detail of the first. That's not my biggest problem, however, Kenzie is. She's not as strong of a lead female as I had hoped. She's guilty of my #1 pet peeve; "the girl who feels that the guy betrayed her, yet she can't resist his sex appeal". REALLY?! The sense of betrayal should kill the attraction if you have any self-respect. Maybe you don't have all of the facts but until you know that the guy is on your side, that he's not actively trying to use you, you don't make out with him! Where is the pride, the self-respect? Beyond that major character flaw, there wasn't any growth on Kenzie's part. She still reacts out of jealousy, anger. She didn't gain any control over her abilities and was easily manipulated. I wanted a strong kick-ass Kenzie, instead, I got an overwhelmed, hormone-swayed girl. The guys didn't get equal time in this book. Mr. Daniels was featured and I was not a fan of his behavior or decisions for a good part of the book. Locke and Logan didn't get enough time. East and Enzo easily had the best moments in the book. Kenzie's brother Ryan didn't come across as likable, her father was a maniacal, cruel leader, and Verity was just too horrible.
This was a very fast-paced book with a major cliff-hanger. I wish that the authors didn't start out with a preface of the ultimate scene. Why make it predictable? It ruins the intensity-building as the action really starts heating up. I believe I will skip the preface in future books so that the suspense is there for me at the best time. With the cliffhanger book, three has huge potential. I hope it lives up to it. I would like to see Kenzie come into her own and quality time with all of the guys (if they deserve it!)

Marked By Power (Marked #1)
by Cece Rose, G. Bailey *****REVIEW
In the world of the Marked, there are things that are normal, expected. There are fewer women than men, so it's normal to be raised by multiple dads and one mom. At age 17 you go to The Marked Academy where you are tested to see how many marks you have and then you spend the next 3 years there being trained. It is normal to receive six marks. Mackenzie Crowe (Kenzie) doesn't care how many marks she receives, 1 or 11. She has a plan; she is only here to put in her three years, then back to her plan. That is until she becomes the first student to ever be marked with all 12 marks; fire, water, air, earth, pain, healing, divination, spirit, protection, technomancy, transmutation, and the unknown 12th mark. Suddenly, there is nothing normal about Kenzie. As if this isn't enough to deal with, she has the additional drama of her best friend and roommate, Kelly only receiving 2 marks, being assigned her older brother, Ryan's best friend and her childhood crush, Easton Black as her student guide, and developing a serious crush on her teacher, Mr. Daniels. Then there's also the twins Logan and Locke and the hot jerk, Enzo. Plan, what plan?
Marked By Power is the brilliant collaboration of Cece Rose and G Bailey. I confess that that these are two of my favorite authors, so I expected nothing short of the excellence that this book is. The world building and story development have true depth. The characters are fantastic. The interactions and dialogue are engaging. Everything seems natural and moves along realisitically. Not easy to do in this paranormal setting. Kenzie is part superhero/part goof. She's funny, feisty, quirky. Her habitual lateness, her temper, her tendency to speak/act before thinking, her love of bacon, and her weakness for the hot guys surrounding her endeared her to me. Easton is the perfect guy you grew up around who never noticed you, but now he does. Logan and Locke are warm and funny. Enzo is the bad boy, and Mr Daniels is the forbidden hot teacher. Her best friend Kelly is great despite the secrets she's been keeping. Ryan is questionable. I am not sure how I feel about him yet. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but if he chooses an ideal over his baby sister, I am not going to be a fan. There are plenty of side characters within the school and outside of it that add layers. It's impossible to know where everyone stands at this moment.
This book has something to appeal to everyone; entertaining story, charismatic characters, action, humor, conflict, surprises, suspense, a touch of sexy, and a bit of romance. I hated that it came to an end and eagerly look forward to the next.

It's impossible to know where everyone stands at this moment.
This book has something to appeal to everyone; entertaining story, charismatic characters, action, humor, conflict, surprises, suspense, a touch of sexy, and a bit of romance. I hated that it came to an end and eagerly look forward to the next.
And Today I Die
by C.M. Stunich and Tate James, ****REVIEW
And Today I Die is a Reverse Harem retelling of the popular Russian fairytale "Vasilisa the Beautiful". This is roughly Cinderella with the addition of the famed Russian witch Baba Yaga and a magical doll. Lissa was given a doll by her mother that is 'alive'. She's Lissa's best friend and the only line of defense she has against her stepmother. Unfortunately, one night her stepmother's temper becomes deadly and doll isn't around to save her. Clinging to life Lissa is saved by a man and taken home with him to Baba Yaga's cottage where the witch strikes a deal with Lissa to save her life. It turns out that Lissa has a history with Baba Yaga and the three men living under the witch's control. Now the witch has Lissa under her control too and her life and very soul are in danger unless she and the men can escape.
The Nine (Foxfire Burning #1)
by C.M. Stunich , Tate James ****REVIEW
Thea Hunt, professional assassin, youngest kitsune in history to get nine white tails, is a total badass. She's also in a rough spot. She needs her ninth tail bound by the elders but her ex, Fin has put in his rights as her destined mate. The council has bound her magic until she returns to him or finds him a new mate. She needs to do this immediately or her next job as an assassin may be her last. She still loves her ex (exes, Fin and Riot, actually) but she can't live the life the kitsune expect of her. She feels trapped and won't have her life dictated to her. She loves her freedom, power, money, and while she loves her exes, she also has an undeniable attraction and unbreakable ties to several others. She's also promised to help work on a cure for a deadly disease attacking the shifter world. A new drug has taken the shifters ability to shift away leaving them on a path to madness. She really needs her magic for the coming fight. But Thea is not one to back down; she will do whatever it takes to protect her own.
Nine Tails is a paranormal romance/urban fantasy collaboration between CM Stunich and Tate James, two of the most talented writers in the RH genre. This book is creative, highly original, and enthralling. It's very well-written. I am not sure how I feel about it. It's entertaining, capturing your attention from the first page. As an RH, I am conflicted. It hurt me to read at times. I personally like the harem to pretty much worship the lead female. That is not the case in this book. Most of the men either seem to want Thea dead (some by their own hands) or grudgingly want her body. Fin, her destined kitsune mate, and their partner Riot, a jaguar shifter truly love her but she left them. It's unclear what happened; if they smothered her or if she wasn't willing to commit but either way she walked away from the loves of her life. Mikhail, a vampire, the leader of the assassins guild, her boss has more than an employer's interest in her but he's maintained that she is only an employee or a food source for years. Barrett, the local alpha wolf is crazy and torn between wanting to kill her or have sex with her. Nix, the skinwalking coyote, is an enigma. He may want her, he may just need her. All three of these men have bound Thea to them in an inescapable manner yet are cruel and unfeeling except when desiring her. And we can't forget about Revel, the sexy kitsune. I'm not entirely sure what her role is; lover, friend, tool of the goddess. I'm not a fan of a mixed harem. I don't mind F/F at all but it doesn't fit into my idea of the perfect harem. However, since this harem is so dysfunctional, maybe I should just embrace her. Really, I want for the men to all admit how special Thea is and start treating her with respect. She deserves better from Mik, Barrett, and Nix. I want her to fix the mess she created with Fin and Rio, I want her magic restored, I want her to deal with some of her a**hole attraction issues. Then I want her and the guys to fix the shifter world! I want alot!! Thea's choices in friends are much easier to understand than the men she wants; Chris (fabulous), Bex (fierce), Shelbi (sweet), and her adorable familiar, little Ziff. I want one! I loved all of the time spent with these characters. It added a realistic feel to her life. She wasn't all about the men. She has her job, her friends, her trouble with the council and her magic. And she has her men/woman.
I seriously cannot wait for more. Thea has my attention. I want to see her with her full magic. She's fierce on her own but with her magic, she will be a goddess in her own right. I also want natural order restored so that I get to enjoy her with Fin and Riot. PLEASE! This is one of those rare unicorn books that I can't figure out what comes next. That is deliciously delightful!!

Dark Glitter (Wild Hunt Motorcycle Club #1)
by C.M. Stunich, Tate James *****REVIEW
Ciarah O’Rourke came back to life in a dirty alley, bloody, bruised, and broken. She held no memories, only confusion, the feeling of torture, and fear. Due to the kindness of a waitress Ciarah soon finds herself with the Wild Hunt Motorcycle Club in the middle of the Louisiana bayou with a rough group of fae. Ciarah may not have her memories but it doesn't take long for the men to figure out who she is, Le Gardien du Voile, the Veil Keeper. They have waited for her return for over 100 years and now they want her to lead the hunt and fix the veil. Much to ask for a girl of 19. But this is no ordinary girl. Her soul is in the body of an eternal goddess. Somewhere buried within her is the knowledge needed to save the world of the fae. She will have to come to terms with her pain, claim her Lords, recover her memories, and merge her soul with the goddess's, and possibly have to win a showdown with the old-timers at the club in order to do this. Good thing that she's a survivor. She didn't give up before. She's not back to fail now. The Queen has returned. Let the Wild Hunt ride!
Dark Glitter is a brilliant collaboration between Tate James and CM Stunich. It's a modern-day spin on the European mythology of the Wild Hunt with fae history and it's inspired. Every bit of this book is well thought out. The Louisiana bayou has a sultry, wild decadence that exists nowhere else. It's captured perfectly and serves as an ideal setting. The story is compelling. The characters are incomparable. Ciarah is a blend of innocence with her amnesia and youth and the power and innate knowledge of the goddess. Her duality makes the character fascinating. More than a woman, more than a goddess. Her pain was palpable at times making it hard for me to breath. Then she would find her strength as a woman, demand that the men respect her, and take what she wanted. I love that she refuses to settle. She's ready for battle and making her own rules. The Lords are almost as complex. Reece, the sex god with his innate understanding and love for females; Arlo, the horned god with his harsh pride; and Killian with his complicated past relationship with the werewolf alpha (can't wait to explore that). These are hard men with their own magic. The werewolves, Raphael and Amelie, are both important and I look forward to having them even more involved. The cast of side characters from the Swamp Witch and Papa Cocodril to the Seer and Sage add such flavor. This crazy assortment of characters comes together like a spicy bowl of gumbo and offers its own brand of pleasure.
The book has plenty of world-building, storytelling, and action. The stage is set. Then the ending... It's a cliffhanger but placed so that one question is answered before the next one is asked. Hard to say where it goes from here or what happens next. You can be certain that it will be quite the ride!

Elements of Desire (Hijinks Harem #3)
by C.M. Stunich, Tate James ****REVIEW
Arizona Smoke, ex-barista, soul mate and now the wife of six elemental dragons. Her best friend is a werewolf, her other bestie is a (maybe) evil succubus. Her mother-in-law Joan is a nasty piece of work, her bio dad and bio-moms want to drain her and her men of their power before killing them, and now the guy's long-lost childhood friend, Gemma Darling is back claiming that the guys are really her sept and the Ari has wrongfully stolen them. Joan and Gemma manage to crash the honeymoon and jeopardize everything between Ari and her guys. But bonds aren't so easily destroyed and it turns out that Ari maybe isn't so annoyed by the guys anymore, just maybe she wants to keep them, maybe she actually loves them. And just maybe, they feel the same way about her. But that's too much emotion, maybe she should just have more wine. She's supposed to be honeymooning, enjoying being a newlywed, enjoying lots of sex with her sexy men, but first, she's got to secure her relationships, deal with her bio-dad and moms, save the elemental world, and deal with friend and family drama all without the support of her incredible wine cellar.
This is an over the top, pun wielding comedy. It's borderline ridiculous at times and just plain ridiculous at others. Several times this book broke through the fourth wall which greatly amused me. It would be easy to dismiss as self-indulgent fluff if the authors weren't so talented. But hidden within the cringe-worthy puns and bad humor, there's a really entertaining story with twists and turns you never see coming. Ari is not my favorite lead female; she's too repetitive and the border-line alcoholism is not attractive to me. I do enjoy her sarcasm and when you compare her to Joan, Gemma, and even Siobhan, she's a pure delight. I have always been in her corner but when she was mentally writing her epitaph, I realized that I had grown fond of her. In the first two books, the guys didn't come close to being my favorite harem either. Gorgeous and sexy, but a little too much on the asshole side for my personal taste. Yes, I understand that I am in the minority. That's okay, just means more book boyfriends for all of you other readers. However, in this book, they all stepped up their games. I love their reactions to the Gemma situation and how they took care of Ari. I can't deny that these guys know how to satisfy their wife (and each other). Sexy, steamy, provocative, erotic, lusty; have I listed enough adjectives to make you understand how hot this book gets! Very entertaining!
Ari's story is nicely wrapped up with this book. The reader is left picturing her with her own version of happily ever after with her elemental husbands. There's plenty of wine and plenty of sex, time with her besties, more sex and more wine and maybe some cake.

Elements of Ruin
by C.M. Stunich, Tate James ****REVIEW
Arizona Smoke has recently found out that she is the spirit elemental in a sept of elementals and is soul bonded to six male elementals, four sexy plumbers, one electrician who happens to be her 'first', and a sexy, but awful Irishman. Her two best friends hate each other, oh and one is a werewolf, the other a succubus. She is haunted by her grandmother, hated by her future mother-in-law, and hunted by her bio-dad and his 6 wives. She just wants to get to know her 'husbands' better and have some hot group sex, but instead, she's fighting for her life and making big enemies in the paranormal community.
This second installment of the Hijinks Harem is even better than the first. Funny, sexy, full of action. I love the unapologetic, in your face bawdiness. It's over the top, punny fun. The writing is solid and it's obvious that the two authors are having a blast with this series. The Harem is complete now and we get to spend plenty of 'quality' time with all of the guys. There's no shortage of sexy times in every combination; MF, MMF, MMM, MFM. It borders on porn in the best of ways, but the storyline is solid, the sex fits in to strengthen it. My only issue with the sex was all of the hate sex. I realize that others enjoy this, but I personally don't. It makes me feel bad. This is a my taste and I do not judge on anything so personal, only the writing and story quality.
Ari is an interesting lead female. I think she's incredibly balanced and normal considering. She has moments of strength and moments of utter failure. She drinks to much. She has walls around her heart, although they are crumbling. She loves her besties fiercely. She's funny and vulnerable. The guys are all bold personalities. The newest member Dustin easily takes over the top spot as Reigning A**. Shane is adorable with his southern charm, George is a sweetie, Reg is incorrigible, and Billy is sexy and intense. Warden is my favorite. I love his crazy sayings, his honesty concerning himself, and the strength of his feelings for Ari. His anger and pain hurt me at times, but I understood him. I love Britt and her wolfie ways. I hate Siobhan equally. I did not like her connection to Dustin from the beginning. I'm also not a fan of Joan. Enough!
This is a book that you can't put down once you start. The suspense, the constant surprises are addicting. Each time you think that you have a handle on what is happening, everything is upended. That's especially true with the ending. Cliffhanger isn't the proper word. I have never actually yelled at and ending before, but I did with this one. I can't decide if I was more shocked or infuriated. Either way, the first chapter of the final book is vitally important to me. Depending on how Ari's husbands all react will be key to me. I'm worried even thinking about how wrong it could all go and I know I won't forgive any harm done to Ari's heart. February seems so far away!

Elements of Mischief (Hijinks Harem #1)
by C.M. Stunich, Tate James ****REVIEW
True, Elements of Mischief sounds like a joke. Four sexy plumbers who can turn into dragon looking elementals. An out of work barista with a slutty best friend who has a penchant for canines. She's also being haunted by the ghost of her uptight grandmother. Throw them all together, add in hundreds of plumbing jokes and some seriously hot sex scenes and it sounds like a hoax, not the wildly entertaining book by two of the most talented writers in the Reverse Harem genre. But that's exactly what it is. It's funny, punny, sometimes borderline ridiculous. It will make you giggle. It's sexy, titillating, and provocative. And finally, it's a well-written, creative story.
Arizona "Ari" Morgan Smoke, later known as Sugar tits, Blossom, Honey bun, Sugar plum, Morgs, Smokey, and Duckie has just inherited her Grandmother's house. The house needs work, including major plumbing. The recommended plumbers, Shane, George, Reg, and Billy are every fantasy come to life. Raised together, they are like brothers, and willing to share. Don't let the names or their occupations fool you. They are each cover model hot (with surprises where it counts most) and magical. They are elementals; Shane is air (he's the leader), George is earth (he's a sweetheart), Reg is water (he's an unapologetic pig), and Billy is fire (he's the bad boy and my favorite). They identify Ari as having a tiny bit of elemental in her as well and immediately decide that they want her in their quint, as their spirit. Be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it, and in this case so much more. This 'quint' is in for a heck of a ride; bad guys, mostly long-lost relatives coming out of the woodwork or in this case sewers determined to kill them; succubi and incubi drawn to their sexual energy like moths to a flame, college sweethearts making appearances, and a mystery man we need to locate quickly. In between battling for their lives, the sex in every combination is scorching hot. I was amazed with their stamina. Battle, indulge, battle, indulge. Don't think for a second that this book is just a vehicle for sex. The sex is noteworthy, but it's a well-crafted story with great main characters and a large supporting cast of side characters. It's a well-rounded, completely original paranormal reverse harem.
It's clear that the authors had a blast writing this book. Their enjoyment comes through on every page. I hope that they continue to indulge in these shenanigans for several more books. The corresponding cahoots of this pair is truly something that can't be missed.

Altered By Fire (Undercover Sinners #1)
Natalia ran. After witnessing a terrible trauma, Natalia finally ran from her mob-boss father. Desperate, high on cocaine an dressed for a nightclub, she ran into a church begging to become a nun. Having little religious knowledge, she chose a church based on appearance, vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows. Once inside she found it was unlike any other church. It was housing five hot "priests". They are undeniably dangerous, crazy, and insanely attractive. Everything that appeals to Natalia.
Altered by Fire was originally published as Five Fathers under the name Kate Morgan. It is a sinful read; provocative, sexy, enthralling, disturbing. It is addictive. Five mercenaries posing as priests on a mission to kill the local mob boss. When Natalia, the daughter of the boss unknowingly offers herself up to the men, they must decide how they want to use her; turn her against her father or hold her against him. They don't realize how the little hellion will get to each of them or how they can end up hurting her even more than her father is capable of. They can offer her heaven or give her hell. Natalia is seriously messed up. She's damaged. Her greatest fear isn't dying, it's being caged. She self-medicates and uses sex to numb her loneliness, to make herself feel alive, to get her father's attention. She is self-destructive and strangely attracted to deadly, disturbing men. Hawke, Arsen, Weston, Colt, and Mace all fit her specific needs. Hawke is cold; Arsen is insane; Weston and Colt, are deadly, sensual, and each with a touch of humor; and Mace, complex, soft-hearted (for Natalia), is a mountain of a man. Each man brings a new temptation for Natalia. It's seriously steamy.
The book is written in dual POV which works incredibly well with this cast of characters. It's great getting into everyone's messed up mind. This is not a sweet, sedate afternoon read. It's intense, a grab you by the balls and never let go thrill ride. It's a little obscene, with just the right amount of filth.

Pain (Curse of the Gods #5)
Willa Knight. Dweller turned God. Sacred and Mighty Willa the Naked. Sister to Emmy, bonded to the Abcurse brothers. She has fought to survive her entire life. Cursed, blessed, challenged. Now she fights for everyone in Topia and Minatsol; Dwellers, Sols, and Gods alike. Can she, her Abcurses, and their friends balance the worlds or will she end up destroying everything?
Neutral (Curse of the Gods #4.5)
by Jane Washington, Jaymin Eve *****REVIEWStrength (Curse of the Gods #4)
by Jane Washington, Jaymin Eve *****REVIEW
Willa and her Abcurses return in Strength, the 4th book of the Curse of the Gods series. They are hiding in Topia at Cyrus, the Neutral god's home after he killed Willa (to save her, obviously). They are trying to figure out the mystery that is Willa. Is she alive, dead, reborn? They are also determined to stick close together. Willa's death made it very clear how important she is to the brothers. Unfortunately, their time hiding away from the world is cut short due to Staviti's new plans. Plans that threaten to change the natural order of the worlds and to destroy all but Straviti's favorite creations. All Betas have been summoned to a new school, Champions Peak located on a secluded mountain where they will train the most powerful sols to hone their abilities for the next cycle. Willa follows the Abcurses of course. Now that she has revealed herself, the Abcurses hope to still keep her a secret from Rau and Staviti, keep her in one piece, mostly out of trouble, and dressed in public.
Genius. I could stop this review with this one word. The JJs have done it again. Willa retains her spot as the most incredible dweller (alive, dead or undead) to ever trip through the worlds. I have never encountered a character that makes me laugh like Willa does. Her inner monologue is PRICELESS! Whether she's thinking about swimming, neutering a face or whether she's wearing underwear she is truly one of a kind. She is perfect in all her ridiculousness, her fierceness, and her kindness. She also has the most spectacular harem to ever step foot out of Topia. Dear me, each Abcurse is better than the last. The only way to pick a favorite is to choose the one on that particular page and know that you will change as you flip to the next one. The scenes between Willa and the brothers are pure hotness with a touch of tenderness. There's a whole lot of love between this group. It's not only Willa and her Abcurses in this book. There are plenty of returning characters and a few new ones. Emmy is back and it looks like she may have a little romance as well. Donald makes an appearance as does Leden and the other Pantera. We meet Adeline and see Abil again. Cyrus has a featured role but this time we also meet Crowe and Pica. We learn more about Staviti, his history, and his ultimate plans. We also meet someone central to his past and maybe a key to understanding Willa. There are also the Sols under the Abcurses but they are easily ignored unless they are being tortured by the brothers or cursed by Willa. So many developed characters each adding layer upon layer to the story. And whether their scenes take place at Champions Peak or one of a dozen locations in Topia the setting is so vivid that it's easy to believe you have stepped between the pages of the book and are there yourself. Add in dangerous situations, adventurous errands, steamy sex scenes, ridiculous predicaments, witty banter and it all adds up to truly brilliant storytelling.
Seduction (Curse of the Gods #3)
by Jane Washington, Jaymin Eve *****REVIEW
Seduction brings the return of my favorite, clumsy, often-naked, chaos-causing, dweller Willa and her beautiful Abcurses. The Abcurses have been called to Topia to stand trial for killing the Chancellor. It's not safe to take Willa with them since they need to keep her from attracting Staviti's attention and out of Rau's hands. The soul-link must be extended to keep Willa safe and only the Neutral God himself, Cyrus can help. Once the link is secured, the Abcurses take off for what is expected to only be a day or two absence at most. What type of trouble could Willa get into left at Blesswood for that short amount of time? Ha! Several fires, a kidnapping, being left for dead, rescuing a herd of Pantera, sneaking into Topia and learning magical secrets for just a start. The Abcurses should know that this girl is not safe out of their sight!
I can't get enough of this series. I am totally addicted. This one has adventures and answers. Willa is always surprising, sweet, and silly. This time she takes control and gets treated with plenty of sweetness and some sexy times. Much appreciated! I love a book that has so much to offer. This one had so much story; humor, revealing answers that led to more questions, betrayals, heartbreak, romance, and love. Willa is one of my favorite leading ladies of all time. Her inner thoughts are the best. I find myself giggling along with the Abcurses. And the Abcurses, 1-5, Rome, Siret, Coen, Yael, and Aros are absolutely delicious.
The JJ's have created an incredible world with such attention to detail. The characters are excellent in every way and the story just keeps getting better. With each new book, I expect so much and these two deliver even more. There's such originality and depth to this story with twists and turns you never see coming. Chaos doesn't begin to accurately portray Willa. I love the idea that Rau or Cyrus or Staviti himself thinks that they can control her. I can see Topia falling first. Only the combined efforts of the Abcurses can rein her in and only because she's willing to make an effort with them. This is a can't put down, read through the night kind of book. The ending will leave you a bit stunned and desperately wanting the next book. So, so good!

by Jane Washington, Jaymin Eve *****REVIEW
I loved Trickery and had ridiculously high expectations for Persuasion. Expectations so high that I honestly couldn't expect them to be met. Never underestimate the JJ's. Persuasion is excellent, excellent, excellent. Without a doubt, I have never loved a lead female like I love Willa with her ridiculous (in the best way) inner monologue, and the Abcurse's are beyond male perfection. Jane Washington and Jaymin Eve are two talented writers individually. Together, they are brilliant.
The book picks back up at Blesswood. Willa is tied to the 5 Abcurse brothers, so she has to be with at least one at all times. She has moved into their rooms, takes classes with them. They have accepted her completely as one of the family. She has turned parts of their lives upside down; she still gets herself into the most ridiculous situations with her clumsiness, her impulsiveness, her uniqueness. She also entertains them completely, brings out a protective quality in them, and opens their eyes to the world beyond their own existence.
This book expands our knowledge of Topia, the gods, and the curse of Rau. There's so much going on. Willa has everyone's focus which puts her in danger. The Sols resent her for not knowing her place, the Dwellers are starting to rebel wanting a life more like hers, and the gods are up to no good. Each group is planning and plotting and Willa is caught up in their plans. She blunders her way through each new threat; sometimes with pure luck, sometimes with her own brand of ingenuity, sometimes with the strange new powers she sporadically has, and sometimes with the direct intervention of the Abcurses. It takes a lot to keep Willa in one piece.
We also get more of Willa and the brothers. Her relationship with each one is unique. Yael, Siret, Rome, Aros and Coen are all complete individuals. She needs each one in a different way and they respond to her distinctively. It's slow moving, but the bond is deepening. The connection goes beyond the curse and when tested, the brothers show that they want Willa in their lives. The emotion they show for her when she's been in danger or missing gives me the warm fuzzies. I want more! There's a bit of kissing, lots of touching, and plenty of nakedness, despite the pact and the new rule. Again, I want more!
It's clear the world is changing. Blesswood itself is on the edge of pandemonium. The gods, Sols, and dwellers are all going to have to make changes, and the change won't be easy. Willa has triggered some of this and will be swept up in the turmoil, no doubt. The Abcurse's now have an idea about Willa's role in this discord, and at the very end provoke her to get their proof. What they prove changes everything once again. Willa's life just got even more complicated. She thought that she didn't fit in before, now she know's where to place herself (if not what to call herself), but she can't fulfill her new role for the sake of the world. She's definitely in over her head, but the Abcurse's will be right there with her.
This book is brilliant. Original, well written, funny, sexy, suspenseful. JJ's I can't wait for the next one!

Trickery (Curse of the Gods #1)
by Jane Washington, Jaymin Eve *****REVIEW
Set in a world where everyone's role is set at birth; God, Sol, Dweller; Willa is an original. She may be classified as the lowest of dwellers, but they can't contain her. She's a pure mess, stumbling through life, wreaking havoc during every waking hour. The book begins with her village preparing to select two of their best to represent the village at Blesswood Academy where dwellers are sent annually to serve the Sol. Willa and her best friend/sister are chosen and their lives are now on a new course. Of course, Willa's life doesn't magically change. She's still a mess, only now she's around powerful people. She quickly catches the attention of the Abcurse brothers, Siret, Yael, Aros, Rome, and Coen or Trickery, Persuasion, Seduction, Strength, and Pain. The brothers have secrets of their own, but quickly they become the most important people in the world to Willa.
Jane is one of my favorite writers in the world. I'm openly obsessed with her books. She creates fantastic worlds and compelling stories filled with exceptional, stalk-worthy characters. I'm now embarrassed to say that this is the first book I have read of Jaymin's, although that will change. I wasn't sure how the collaboration would work, but the writing was seamless. These two meshed their styles together cleverly. I couldn't tell who wrote what. They did an excellent job creating fully developed characters. Each brother has a distinct way with Willa and with each other. Great dynamics. The side characters are all nicely developed and add additional layers.
This story was entertaining, well-written, laugh out loud funny, and full of sexual tension. Any book with a lead female who has a "penchant for nudity", falls on her ass or face as many times as Willa does, and carries on hysterical conversations in her head constantly even though her thoughts can be read is truly brilliant! Willa's rambling, her thought process (the Jeffrey's), and overall originality makes her one of the best female leads ever. Throw in 5 hot brothers to surround her and a bit of mystery, and now I have a new obsession. J & J, how soon can I get the next book??

Shattered Destiny (Reclaiming The Throne #1) by Yumoyori Wilson, Tamara White ****REVIEW
Abigail was born to powerful dragons, her mother was even a respected healer. However, she was born human causing her father enough shame that he abandoned her and her mother before she was even born. As a young girl, Abigail's mother became sick so she willingly assumed the duties of the household working long days in the fields and with the clan's livestock. At the end of each long day, alone with the goats, she understood her place, her worth, felt at peace. She felt strongly that she existed to help others too weak to help themselves. It was also here that her life changed course. Finishing up her duties, Abigail observed a dragon fight between two of her clan's red dragons and three foreign dragons of gold, purple, and a never before seen blue dragon. When the blue dragon is injured and falls to the ground Abigail feels compelled to help it. With a previously unknown ability, she helps heal the dragon allowing the three dragons to escape and landing her in the king's dungeon. After nearly two weeks of torture and removing her every reason to live the king releases Abigail and she flees her clan. Rescued by a rogue clan Abigail finally finds a home. Here she finds her truth, her strength, her mates, danger, and loss.
Shattered Destiny is packed with action. It is a non-stop adventure. Abigail is a strong lead female. Determined and vengeful but not bitter. She is broken and battered but there's still a lot of fight in her. I love how she goes from goat herder to warrior. I do not doubt the greatness she is destined for. As far as the men go we only really spend time with one, Raphael and as he's the grumpy sort, we don't get to know him well. I liked him well enough but wish that he had been brave enough to allow himself to follow his feelings and feel less regret. We don't get to know Kris or Connor at all.
